Seven Big Questions about Faith

We use the words cross, salvation, and faith all the time, but we’re often unclear about the many facets and implications of these words on our lives. Join us for a judgment-free, creative, and small group on these seven big questions of our faith. Using DVD clips featuring well-known and engaging clergy and theologians, discussion, art and writing, and prayer, we will undertake a journey of discovery as we seek to embody our faith in meaningful ways. This class will also double as preparation for adults inquiring about confirmation, which will occur late spring or mid-summer.

God - Faith is a Quest
Religion - Spirituality is Not Enough
Jesus - The Revolution of Love
Salvation - Abundant Life Now
Cross - Where God Is
Bible - A Book Like No Other
Church - An Imperfect Family Relationship

In an effort to keep the groups small, there will be three different groups:
The Monday evening group (6:45-8:15) will begin January 12 and will be led by Steve Seely.
The Thursday evening group (6:45-8:15) will begin January 15 and will be led by Mother Maria.
The Wednesday daytime group (Time: TBA) will begin January 14 and will be led by Charlie Gaumond.

February 3, 2015 10:30 AM
Please join us to participate in (or observe) a 'gentle yoga' class to be held on Tuesdays at 11am in the old parish hall at Piney.  Class participation is by donation.  Anne Machetto, a certified yoga instructor, will be conducting the class.  It is suitable for beginners and those desiring to do 'chair yoga' and is open to both parishioners and non-parishioners.

Welcome to St. Paul's, Piney!

Welcome to the website of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Piney Parish.  We are grateful that you've taken a moment to learn a bit about us. Although we have been in Southern Maryland since 1752,  we believe God is still speaking and moving in the world today.  We don't claim to have all the answers, nor are we here to tell you how and what to think.  Yet, we are convinced that as we gather to worship, pray, and walk alongside one another as a community, we experience a foretaste of the unending love and peace awaiting us all.  It would be our privilege to be with you on the journey.
