Come make an Advent wreath for your home!

The Advent Wreath is the widely recognized symbol of Advent and is made of a circle of evergreen branches laid flat to symbolize the endless nature of God’s love for his people. Four candles stand in the circle which themselves symbolize the four centuries of waiting between the prophet Malachi and the birth of Christ, and each week we light a candle in preparation for the birth of Christ and his return to earth once again.

Experience Advent differently this year through Interactive Prayer Stations.  Prayer Stations are a way to engage in God’s word and intentionally connect with our faith in tangible ways.

Beginning December 2nd and lasting through December 16th, a series of intergenerational and interactive prayer stations will be set up throughout the church focusing on a different theme each week.  Each station can be completed individually or in groups and at your own pace.  You may come anytime during the 2 1/2 hours and take as little or as much time as you want.

Compline (a brief service of nighttime prayers) will be held at 7:45.

Welcome to St. Paul's, Piney!
Welcome to the website of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Piney Parish.  We are grateful that you've taken a moment to learn a bit about us. Although we have been in Southern Maryland since 1752,  we believe God is still speaking and moving in the world today.  We don't claim to have all the answers, nor are we here to tell you how and what to think.  Yet, we are convinced that as we gather to worship, pray, and walk alongside one another as a community, we experience a foretaste of the unending love and peace awaiting us all.  It would be our privilege to be with you on the journey.

A Christmas of Love
Beginning, Sunday November 22…

The Mitten Tree
Winter is just around the corner.  Let’s help make it a bit warmer for our neighbors with donations of mittens (for children and teens), gloves, hats, and scarves.  Drop off your gifts under the mitten tree in the Welcome Center Lobby. The last day to bring in items is Sunday, December 13th.
Christmas Toy Drive
Starting Sunday, November 22, we will begin collecting unwrapped toys to benefit children in our local community.  Unwrapped toys may placed under our mitten tree by the main stairs.  Please bring in your toys by December 13.  If you would like to help distribute the toys with Children’s Aid Society, you may sign up in the Welcomer Center.
Christmas Stockings
Pick up an empty Christmas stocking in the Hamilton Room (large fellowship hall) and fill it with small gifts for children and teens.  Please return your stocking by December 13th.
